2017 Yom HaShoah in Whitwell, TN
Our congregation is organizing with Beth Joshua Congregation and Rabbi Uri Topolosky a trip to Whitwell, TN, the site of the film documentary, “Paperclips.” We will be travelling there together on April 23-24, 2017 which is Yom HaShoah.
The goal of the trip is to bear witness to an incredible Holocaust memorial created in this small town, and to meet the individuals behind its creation and implementation. The trip will offer a window into a part of our country very different than our own, affording us the opportunity for important dialogue on some of the pressing issues of today.
Participants will be expected to arrange their own round trip travel down to Atlanta, and overnight stay in Atlanta, although we will provide suggestions. A participation fee will be announced to cover shared costs of food and bus transportation.
Steering Committee (In-Formation): Melanie Grishman, Miki Moskowitz, Jim Perlmutter.
