Membership

Purpose: The Membership Committee helps welcome new members into the Tikvat Israel community. It also provides information about the synagogue to prospective members who contact the synagogue, and is involved in some recruitment activities. Tasks include calling new and prospective members to welcome them and answer questions about the synagogue, and planning programs and activities for those who have recently joined the synagogue.

Activities: Some of the planned activities include a Friday night dinner honoring new members, a special Shabbat minchah service, and a program that matches new members with existing members who are willing to serve as hosts.

Seeking New Members: The Membership Committee is open to people of different ages and backgrounds, including people who have belonged for years and those who have just joined. The main qualifications are an ability to identify the needs of new and prospective members and an interest in organizing programs to meet those needs.
