The Boxcar Lilies with Special Guest Jim Henry Perform Sunday, May 21

Box Car Lilies will perform May 21 at 7:30 pm with special guest Jim Henry on Dobro, mando, and guita. Box Car Lilies combine spine-tingling three-part harmony and exceptional songwriting, The Boxcar Lilies have made a name for themselves with their signature mix of folk, country, blues, and bluegrass-tinged Americana music.

Though each member of the Massachusetts-based trio has a distinct singing talent, Jenny Goodspeed (electric bass, guitar), Stephanie Marshall (washboard, guitar), and Susan Cattaneo (guitar) deftly weave their voices into a delicious whole – a sound that is sometimes delicate, sometimes gritty, but always innovative and soul-stirring.

The trio’s sparkling and lush brand of Americana has led to numerous opportunities including being selected for an official showcase at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis and performing at the 2014 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival as the #1 Most Wanted Emerging Artist.

The FOCUS event will be staged at Tikvat Israel; light refreshments will be available for purchase during intermission. Advance tickets are available through FOCUS’s website.  FOCUS member pricing for tickets purchased at the door will be extended to Tikvat Israel members.

FOCUS is a non-profit organization whose mission “is to bring folk and acoustic music to a growing audience through performance, education and participation in the musical folk art.” Tikvat Israel and FOCUS have agreed to a partnership to bring folk music concerts to Tikvat Israel and the Montgomery County community
