Seventh Grade - Zayin

Students prepare for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah and study coming-of-age issues with Rabbi Gorin. The Rabbi's seminar includes the study of G-d, which encourages student speculation, as part of the intellectual preparation to help them deal with the challenges of being a Jewish teen in high school. Explores the mitzvot found in the weekly Torah readings and includes discussion of holidays, customs, and ceremonies. Students study the Holocaust in the context of modern-day issues with a focus on the causes of intolerance, hear survivors and see films on the Holocaust, and make a field trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

Schedule: Sundays from 10 am - 12 noon; Mondays 4:15 - 6:15 pm; Rabbi's Seminar - on 10 designated Wednesdays from 4:15 - 6:15 pm
