"What is Economic Development, Why Should I Care, and What Will My Neighborhood Look Like in 10 Years?"

Lynne Benzion is an active member of Tikvat Israel. She is a nationally certified economic developer, and serves as Associate Director for Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) Lynne has administered seven annual StartRight! Women’s Business Plan Competitions. She teaches business plan writing for the Rockville Women’s Business Center. Lynne will tell us what plans are in store for our community.

Lynne also serves on the Maryland Economic Development Association Board of Directors as the Professional Development Co-Chair, and is a member of the current (2012) class of Leadership Montgomery.

Before taking the position with REDI, Lynne's experience included running a home-based business, teaching a variety of subjects in the Montgomery County, MD and Coudersport, PA public schools, and working for the Rutgers University Cooperative Extension Service.
