TI Hoops Team Drops Opening Trio.........posted Jan 23, 2006
Confronting taller and largely younger opponents, Tikvat Israel's men's basketball has dropped its first three contests of the 2006 season.
Competing in the Montgomery County synagogue circuit, the TI forces lost to Shaare Tefila's blue team, 66-40, B'nai Shalom's white squad, 83-40, and Oseh Shalom's B team, 65-39.
In the contest against B'nai Shalom on Jan. 15, Stuart Metzger gamely came off the injured reserved list as a late addition to the lineup "because we needed a few more bodies," Coach Warren Berger reported. Metzger ended up as one of TI''s top scorers, along with Mark Waldman and Berger.
"We had some nice passes and good plays, but the other team had more -- and they were generally taller than us," Berger said.
A complete rundown on the TI team appears [here].
