Torah Fund Off to Roaring Start.........posted Apr 2, 2007

Tikvat Israel's M'kom Torah Campaign is off to a wonderful start.

During the first three weeks since the campaign's launch, congregants have contributed more than $180,000 toward the initial goal of $280,000, according to campaign chair Danny Bachman.

"Many thanks to all those who have joined the campaign," Bachman said. "If you haven't done so yet, now is the time to send in your donation."

A Torah-Thon is scheduled for April 29, and the ceremony to mark the completion of synagogue's new Torah scroll will be held on May 13.
