For Being 'Out Front,' TI's Lynn Berk Earns Convention's Kudos.........posted Dec 13, 2008
Lynn Berk, a member of the professional staff at Tikvat Israel since 2005, will be honored at the international convention of United Synagogue Youth on Dec. 21 in Washington, D.C.
Berk, who serves as will be recognized for her "incredible dedication and many years of service to USY, Kadima, and all of the individuals and families you have touched," according to a statement issued by Shira Kaplan, regional youth director in the Seaboard Region, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
The citation about the honoree continues this way: "For many years you have been a youth director, advisor, caterer, and friend to several generations of children and families in the Seaboard Region. Whether you were out front running a program or behind the kitchen door, your commitment has remained steadfast and true."
The tribute to Berk will take place in the Presidential Suite of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.
A Silver Spring resident, Berk spent the previous four years as deputy director of lifelong learning at Tifereth Israel Congregation in Washington after serving as acting executive director and 16 years as youth director.
Born and reared in Chicago, Berk owns and operates Elegant Edibles Caterers, a Kosher firm she created in 1985.
