Starting Sunday, July 27, the entry and exit paths for vehicle operators at Congregation Tikvat Israel will have a totally new orientation.

What had been the synagogue's entrance (near the Rockville High School parking lot) becomes the exit. And what had been the two-lane exit since the synagogue added its social hall to the building in the early 1980s now becomes the entrance. The flow of traffic now is the reverse of what has been in place for more than 20 years.

The parking lot will be resurfaced during the day-long project.

The work is being completed this summer to facilitate drop-offs this September of students attending the newly relocated Hebrew Day Institute and pre-school youngsters attending Tikvat Israel's early childhood program.
