Congregants Adopt a Budget for 2008-09.........posted Jun 6, 2008
Tikvat Israel members adopted a $1.7 million spending plan for 2008-09 at a congregational meeting on June 3.
The new budget, which takes effect July 1, represents a modest increase over the current year.
The proposed budget was presented to the congregation by TI President Ron Rabin and Howard Dickenson, who chairs the budget committee. (More specific details are available from Rabin at rlrabin@gmail.com.
The congregation also gave preliminary approval to a new structure of synagogue board vice presidents. A proposal, developed by the synagogue president, would give specific portfolios of responsibility to each of the three vice presidents. A second proposal would establish a new succession procedure among the vice presidents, each of whom serves a rwo-year term.
Congregants will be convened later this year to give their formal approval to the restructuring, which Rabin said will greatly strengthen the leadership succession at Tikvat Israel. The new structure would take effect in January 2009 with the next election of officers and board members.
