Gorban has been involved with the Jewish community in Northern Virginia and Maryland, working at several religious schools and for the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning. She currently serves as president of Tikvat Israel's Women's Network.

The Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse operates a domestic abuse treatment team to meet the diverse needs of its clients and their children. A case manager oversees all aspects of a client's assistance, from arranging for safe shelter or legal assistance to providing for food and job training.

The agency contracts with the Jewish Social Service Agency to provide counseling for clients and their families and has conducted numerous training programs for JSSA clinicians to ensure they are prepared to effectively handle domestic abuse cases.
