David Friedland, a member of Boy Scout Troop 1948, sponsored by Tikvat Israel, will be awarded the prestigious Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor on March 15. His capstone project in attaining Boy Scouting's highest achievement involved creating prayer benches for the rear of the TI sanctuary.

A 12-year-old member of Tikvat Israel has been named the winner of the 2009 Washington Jewish Week's Purim art contest in the grades 4-6 category. Sarah Meiselman's artwork appears on the front cover of the March 5 edition of the weekly newspaper.

Many in the Washington area need help in preparing for Pesach. If you can donate a few hours of your time on Sunday, April 5, then you can do a mitzvah for those in need. Project Hope, coordinated by B'Nai Brith and other local organizations, is a Pesach program for needy residents. There are two ways for you to get involved.
