Tikvat Israel responded big time to the call this year for food donations during our annual Kol Nidre Food Appeal. Members contributed non-perishables amounting to 1,630 lbs, according to the Manna Food Bank in Rockville.

Would you like to represent Tikvat Israel in athletic competition against other synagogues in the area? For several years, TI has fielded teams in basketball in the winter and softball in the spring in countywide recreation leagues involving synagogues from various branches. You must be at least 18 to play. All games take place on Sunday mornings.

Three members of Boy Scout Troop 1948, sponsored by Tikvat Israel, have earned the highest rank of Eagle. The troop is honoring Scott Goodin, David Zuckerman and Joshua Greenwald with the Eagle Scout award at a ceremony at the synagogue.
