With a Dozen Delegates, Tikvat's USYers Lead Regional Convention

Tikvat Israel sent 12 of its youth members and three staff members to the United Synagogue Youth's Seaboard Region Convention in Virginia Beach, Va., and contributed two of the event's three co-chairs, as well.

Creative Tefillin-Manufacturing Workshops at TI Draw News Media's Attention

An unusual participatory tefillin-making program led by Israeli Noah Greenberg at Tikvat Israel over three consecutive weekends this fall has captured the eye of The Washington Jewish Week. Rabbi Howard Gorin was credited as the catalyst for the unusual program. The rabbi met Greenberg by chance during a trip to Israel. then led the fund raising to bring the tefillin maker to Rockville.

Tikvat Israel Sets Higher Sights for Basketball Season

Coach Warren Berger says Tikvat Israel will be looking to improve on its past results when the 2011 season opens in the Montgomery County Synagogue Basketball League in early January. TI will be entering its 13th season in the league, and Berger is seeking some additional congregants (male 18 or older) to join the roster.
