TI Teens to Dance in Memory of Israeli Girl
Five teenage members of Tikvat Israel will dance on May 14 in memory of a 13-year-old Israeli girl, Hallel Ariel, who was killed in a terrorist attack last June. A short documentary was made about Hallel, also a dancer.
The TI dancers, members of the Kesem and Yesodot Israeli dance troupes, will be participants at the 2017 Israeli Folk Dance Festival at the Hebrew Academy, May 14 at 3 pm. The TI dancers are Ellie Schwartz, Adina Schwartz, Eliana Mannes, Matthew Kaminow and Miriam Gardsbane. TI’s Marnina Cowan serves as director of the Kesem Israeli dance troupe. Kesem and Yesodot are engaging in acts of chesed in Hallel’s memory and are raising money for a playground, Ginat Hallel, to be built in Hallel’s memory at the school that she attended (and where her younger sister still attends) in Kiryat Arba.
